Legal Advocates are available to work with you at any time in the criminal justice process, and will be with you throughout the entire process. Your legal advocate will be available to answer your questions, provide you with information, and help you navigate the legal system. Our focus is to help the system work more effectively for you and your family. Legal advocacy services are confidential and free of charge.
Legal Advocates:
Prepare you for what to expect
Discuss reporting options
Make you aware of your rights
Help you safety plan
Act as a liaison, providing you with legal updates
Connect you directly with the individuals making decisions on your case
Advocate for what you want to see happen
Accompany you to interviews or court hearings
Speak on your behalf, if requested
Help you tell your story in the way you want it told

Support you in your choices
If your child has been sexually assaulted, Legal Advocates:
Explain what to expect in a child abuse investigation
Give you practical information on how to support your child
Provide and explain your rights
Explain the child interview process to both you and your child
Provide support at child interview
Address safety planning
Accompany your child to any interviews or court appointments
Provide your child with age appropriate information about the legal process
Advocate for your child's best interest
