Table Captains Share Their Why

Table Captains Share Their Why

Some of our 2020 BE LOUD Breakfast table captains wonder what to say when inviting others to join them at the event or support the King County Sexual Assault Resource Center. Two of our BE LOUD Breakfast table captains, Diana Schuetz and Angela Bultemeier, shared how they approach others about KCSARC and what drives their passion to ensure survivors receive the help they need.

Diana and Angela are both active, engaged KCSARC Board Members. We are thankful for their strong partnership and support and can’t wait for their attendance at the 2020 BE LOUD Breakfast!

I appreciate your passion for ensuring justice and care for the victims of sexual assault in our communities; your continued support helps KCSARC alleviate, as much as possible, the trauma of sexual assault for victims and their families.

Thinking back to our conversation about the Netflix series “Unbelievable” and how “Marie” never got the help or advocacy she should have, I hope you will join me again this year at the KCSARC BE LOUD fundraising Breakfast.  Giving to KCSARC is how we can give voice to victims, their families, and the community; create change in beliefs, attitudes, and behaviors about violence; and instill courage for people to speak out about sexual assault.

Our contributions make a tangible difference to the lives of thousands in our community. For “Marie” and all of us who desperately need the services KCSARC provides, I hope you will join me.

Looking forward to seeing you there.

Greetings fine friends of mine! You are receiving this email because you are awesome and a friend of mine and it's that time of year again for my annual invitation to the King County Sexual Assault Resource Center BE LOUD Breakfast! Most of you know how much this organization means to me, but if you're receiving this email for the first time (hello, new friends!), let me take a minute to review why KCSARC is important to me.

I've been a big supporter of KCSARC since I attended my first fundraising breakfast several years ago. At that first breakfast I heard from a father who learned that his daughter was being sexually molested by his favorite uncle. In their darkest initial moments of hearing from their daughter, they had someone to reach out to. They had someone to provide counseling, review what legal options were available, and help navigate the legal system. They had someone that cared and that was there for them every step of the way to healing. I was astounded to learn that most communities in the U.S. do not have this support. And that's not okay. Every year I hear more stories from survivors and their amazing journey to mental and physical health with the support of KCSARC and I become more and more passionate about supporting KCSARC.

And this is where you all come in. KCSARC is a non-profit/non-government organization based in King county and, like all non-profits, they need donations to continue to provide services.

I would be honored and excited to have you join me at the KCSARC annual Breakfast. If the Breakfast isn't your thing, please consider making a donation at You won't be sorry, I promise. :)

Thanks for listening and for being someone I consider a friend.

Looking forward to seeing all our wonderful table captains at the BE LOUD Breakfast!
