Staying at home is one of the primary ways to prevent the spread of COVID-19. It’s important that we all practice “social distancing” – staying at least 6 feet apart where possible, washing our hands frequently, avoid touching our faces to avoid getting sick or spreading the virus to others.

We know these are difficult times for everybody, and especially those who are struggling to heal from sexual violence or abuse. The closures and restrictions touch so many aspects of our daily lives, and many survivors and families are experiencing hardships at this time, emotional, physical, and financial.

Without schools and workplaces to go to, and without usual places to visit and distance supportive friends and family, it’s easy to feel more anxious, depressed, and plain old stressed out.

We want our clients and community to know KCSARC is here to support survivors and families who need therapy and family support, legal advocacy, and with other essential needs. Our 24-Hour Resource Line is still here for immediate help, information, or resources at 1.888.99.VOICE.

We know you have questions and are looking for useful, accurate information. We’ve put a few resources together here on one page, whether you’re looking for information on managing anxiety, ways to talk to your kids about coronavirus or want to use your time together to open dialogue.

We’ll continue to build on the resources here so check back often.
