Get Involved

Help ensure every survivor who needs help healing from sexual assault or abuse gets the support they need by donating today.

The federal stimulus package passed in March included changes to the charitable tax deduction. For those who don’t itemize, cash donations made in 2020 of up to $300 can be deducted (considered an “Above the Line” deduction). For those who itemize, the limitation on how much of your charitable donations you can deduct (previously at 60% of Adjusted Gross Income) has been lifted. Info here

KCSARC is on the front lines with victims of sexual assault and at the forefront of change in our community because of the philanthropic support of individuals and foundations. Your support allows KCSARC to provide services to victims and education to the community free of any charge to the client. As a 501(c)(3), contributions are tax-deductible as allowed by law. KCSARC's tax ID #91-0967255.

Partner with KCSARC and show your employees, customers, and investors you're taking real action to make change happen. Contact Abigail Pishaw, Events and Corporate Partnerships Manager at or 425.282.0320.

Major Donor Circle: With a gift of $1,000 or more annually, you will join a committed group of supporters in KCSARC’s Major Donor Circle. These donors provide significant funding to KCSARC and receive additional recognition for their support, including invitations to exclusive gatherings throughout the year. For more information, please contact Karen Sharp, Director of External Relations, at 425.282.0331.

Sustaining Donors: You will help KCSARC by providing a steady, reliable source of funds each month, continue outreach and service to our community. Sustaining donors commit to a monthly donation, which will be automatically charged to your credit card each month. You may increase, decrease or cancel your donation at any time. Visit our donation page and be sure to choose "monthly gift" when selecting your donation amount. Questions? Contact External Relations.

Cash Donations
There are many ways to make a cash donation:

1. Online.

2. Mail checks to KCSARC, PO Box 300, Renton, WA 98057.

3. By phone - ask for External Relations at 425-226-5062.

You may also make a dedication gift in honor or memory of someone and KCSARC will send a special acknowledgement card to the person you identify.

Facebook Fundraising
Facebook has made it simple to rally your friends and family to support a cause you believe in! Even better, 100% of all funds you raise go to KCSARC; Facebook does not take a fee. On the left side of your news feed, click "Fundraisers." Then click the blue "Raise Money for a Nonprofit" button and choose KCSARC (our logo and King County Sexual Assault Resource Center tells you you've found the right page). Choose your fundraising goal, set a timeframe for the fundraiser (birthdays or holidays are popular), select images, and a few words to tell your friends why you're doing the fundraiser -- and you're set to go! Need support or ideas for how to make your online campaign successful? Email our External Relations team!

Gifts of Stock
There are lots of advantages to making a stock gift. Although you should check with your tax professional about how these rules apply to you, the following information may help you understand the process:

  • Under current tax laws, the full fair-market value of stocks and bonds (up to 30% of adjusted gross income this year, with a five-year carryover for any “excess”) may be deducted. The extra benefit of donating appreciated stocks or bonds is that federal capital gains tax on the securities unrealized appreciation may be avoided.

  • The value of your gift of securities is based upon the mean between the high and low quotations on the specific day your securities pass from your control.

To donate stock, contact your broker to determine the stock and number of shares you would like to contribute. Then contact KCSARC’s External Relations Department at 425.226.5062 with your broker’s contact information and the information about the shares you are donating.

Planned Giving
Make an investment in KCSARC’s future with a living legacy gift or bequest. Legacy gifts help ensure that your commitment to helping KCSARC end the silence around sexual assault will continue. Planning a gift of assets with estate and tax implications in mind, enables you to help KCSARC while keeping your own financial goals in site. You may fund your gift in various ways including cash, real estate, property, stock, life insurance and retirement funds. A legacy gift can help you avoid capital gains taxes at the time of the gift, protect assets otherwise subject to estate and gift taxes and reduce current income taxes. For more information on planning a legacy gift to KCSARC, contact your attorney or the External Relations Department at 425.226.5062.

Gifts of Goods or Services
In-kind donations are non-cash gifts of materials, services or long-lived assets that support and serve the mission of KCSARC. Such gifts may include equipment, software, printed materials, or services such as printing or consulting. Gifts in-kind are a valued way of supporting KCSARC and are tax-deductible as allowed.

Please check our wish list below for current needs:
