The 5th Annual Destination: Auburn Tropical Cruise raised over $22,500 for KCSARC services. Guests enjoyed hors d'oeuvres and drinks while mingling with old friends, visiting the silent auction tables, and watching the horse races.
This year's event was emceed by Carleen Johnson, host and anchor for KVI Talk Radio 570 AM and KOMO 1000 News Radio.
Mayor Pro Tem Sue Singer, Committee Chair, introduced the event by thanking the event sponsors, Tour Guides, the event committee, and the elected officials for their participation in this event.
Mary Ellen Stone, KCSARC's Executive Director, presented Emerald Downs with the "Creating Change" award for using their power in the media to support sexual assault victims.
The highlight of the evening was a video of Adriel, a KCSARC client, who told her story of healing and recovery from an assault at age 13. Her mother, Donna, followed the video with a moving update on Adriel and their family.
Thank you to our generous Sponsors, Tour Guides and Committee for making this a fun-filled tropical evening.
