Margo Myers

Longtime Friend and Seattle Breakfast Emcee

Margo Myers, longtime news anchor at both KOMO 4 and KIRO 7, has been a long-term supporter of KCSARC and its "Kids are Our Business" Seattle Breakfast.

In February, she served as emcee of the event for the seventh year!  Margo's career as a journalist and reporter has heightened her sense of crimes against children.

Over the last few years, she has done a number of stories on Internet predators.  In one of the stories, she worked with KCSARC to learn just how these predators are approaching teenaged boys through video games, and interviewed a teenage victim about online dangers.

In mid-March, Margo Myers co-hosted a presentation with KCSARC's Lindsay Palmer, Director of Education, to a group of 350 young women from various local middle and high schools, for the Expanding Your Horizons workshop at Highline Community College.  The presentation, entitled "Be Bold, Be Real, Be Ready" empowered young women to find their strengths, gain confidence, and examined a current day 'Girls Bill of Rights' to encourage them to pursue their dreams.

Margo says, "KCSARC is such a leader in the community to speak out against sexual assault, and find new ways to end the silence.  I'm proud to be associated with an organization that works so diligently to keep our young people safe, and help give them the means to cope when such a crime happens. Our community is lucky to have such knowledgeable advocates."
