We are in a time when our community is engaged with the issue of sexual assault, often on a daily basis.  KCSARC is an expert source that can answer questions and provide information for those in the media.  For example:

• Locally, the issue of sex offender housing has been a contentious issue, and KCSARC has been working with neighborhoods and community groups on this topic for several years.
   
• Locally and nationally, there has been much discussion of incidents of trusted community members accused and/or convicted of sexually violating minors in their care.  KCSARC has information about "grooming" and other tactics that predators use to get close to kids and their families.  KCSARC can also provide information about child safety for parents, teachers and other care givers.
   
• Internet usage by kids has led to a dramatic increase in their contact with sexual predators.  Parents and caregivers need information about how to keep their kids safe.
